Equipment :: Status Monitoring

We collect and maintain a number of metrics about the operation of ScotGrid. Additonal metrics are mainatined by the UKI Grid Operations Centre at RAL and at the EGEE level.

Local Metrics

Ganglia

Locally, we use Ganglia/ to monitor each site within ScotGrid. (There is a proposal to aggregated these metrics to produce one set of metrics for ScotGrid as a whole, watch this space...)

A snapshot of the status of each site as displayed in the EGEE grid's information system is available via the gstat pages.

Real Time Maps

Developed by GridPP there are various real time monitoring maps of the grid.

Accounting

Accounting statistics are gathered across EGEE and presented here - select EGEE View - the ScotGrid sites are visible as a group in the collapsible tree view on the left (within EGEE->Production->UKI).

Note that this accouting view also gives interesting statistics on the efficiency of different VOs' jobs. Select "CPU Efficiency" in the "Data to graph" option. Efficiency here is defined as CPU time divided by wallclock time.
