26 September 2006. New Cluster Arrives at Glasgow
Glasgow University recently took delivery of a new computing facility from ClusterVision. The new cluster consists of 140 dual core, dual CPU Opteron worker nodes, providing more than 1 million SI2K. The new cluster will support diverse communities across Scotland as part of the proposed Scottish Grid Service. Storage of almost 100TB is provided.
This new Grid Computing infrastructure will support Particle Physics and Bioinformatics, as well as Grid Data Management, Information Retrieval, Medical Imaging and Device Modelling simulations.
