ScotGrid

8 May 2007. Heavens Above, It's ScotGrid!

Under the shroud of Alastair Gray's stunning murals in Oran Mor The University of Glasgow ran an Interdisiplinary Research Fair on 26 April.

More than 80 researchers from across the University were present to enjoy a glass of wine, show off their work and talk about interdisiplinary projects. Cutting edge projects from biology, engineering, physics and chemistry were among the 40 posters on display.

ScotGrid was represented by Professor Tony Doyle and Dr Graeme Stewart who brought the GridPP Real Time Monitor along to show the EGEE grid working live. "There was a real interest from many, many communities in using ScotGrid as a way of solving the 21st Century computing challenges faced across disciplines," said Graeme. "Having the real time monitor was a great help in showing the grid as a working entity - not just a pipe dream."
