ScotGrid

ScotGrid Overview

The ScotGrid system is based across 3 main sites at the Universities of Glasgow, Edinburgh and Durham and is designed, primarily to support on-going research within the field of Particle Physics, as one of the largest Tier 2 sites within the UK for the CERN experiments. The systems deployed are Intel Based platforms utilising Scientific Linux to facilitate a potentially global research environment for all researchers requiring distributed computing resources.

The entire environment is monitored, maintained and developed by dedicated teams at each site, who work collectively to ensure a fully operational system is available to the end user communities 24 by 7.
