Resources
User Information
The Users section of the ScotGrid wiki is the definitive source of information for working on ScotGrid.
Access to ScotGrid Resources
ScotGrid resources are all accessed using grid methods. You need to do the following to enable access to the sites.
- Obtain a grid certificate.
This certificate is your passport to the grid. The UK Certificaton Authority have good documentation on how to do this. - Join a VO, like NGS.
Grid users get access to resources through a grid "group" called a Vitrual Organisation (or VO). If your project is part of a VO you'll probably already know this (e.g., for the LHC VOs one joins here). If your project has not yet formed a VO, then you may join the UK's National Grid Service.
Site Specific Information
The aim of grid level access is to make resources appear as uniform and homogeneous as possibe. However, there may be some site specific issues to be aware of.
Glasgow
If you are a researcher based at Glasgow then access to the Glasgow cluster only may be arranged without joining a VO. You will still need a grid certificate, however. In this case email the support team at uki-scotgrid-glasgow@physics.gla.ac.uk. You will need to give the DN of your certificate.

Ticketing System
- Once you are up and running on ScotGrid it is better to use the UK Grid Regional Operations Centre helpdesk to resolve problems. The easiest way to do this to send an email to support@grid-support.ac.uk - this will automatically generate a support ticket.
